Platform terms
Professional independence comes first.
These early-access terms explain the current platform boundaries while formal launch terms are prepared.
Marketplace role
Retain an Expert provides tools for finding and managing independent professionals. The platform is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client, expert-client, employment, agency, or engagement relationship merely through search, profile review, application, or request submission.
Independent experts
Experts remain responsible for their qualifications, licenses, methods, opinions, disclosures, conflicts, professional duties, and compliance with applicable court orders and rules. A profile, application, badge, or verification indicator is not a guarantee of qualification, availability, admissibility, or performance.
No promised result
The platform does not select an opinion, promise a favorable conclusion, guarantee court acceptance, or promise any legal, financial, clinical, or case outcome.
Confidentiality boundary
Public and early routing forms are not approved channels for confidential or privileged case information. Users must complete the appropriate conflict, authorization, engagement, and access steps before exchanging restricted information.
Acceptable use
Users must provide accurate information, use the platform lawfully, respect professional and court obligations, and avoid uploading harmful code, impersonating another person, bypassing access controls, or using the service to influence an expert's independent opinion.
Engagement and billing records
Participants must separately establish written engagement terms. Recording authorization in the workspace does not sign a contract or replace that agreement. Hourly rates are entered for each engagement, not advertised platform pricing. Time and expenses require review before invoicing. Invoices and payment-status records do not charge a card, move money, determine taxes, or prove payment; administrators record funds received outside this website.
Before public launch
Formal terms covering payments, subscriptions, cancellations, disputes, records, warranties, liability, and jurisdiction remain to be finalized and reviewed by counsel before public launch.
